Anita Akuffo, in partnership with the Adenta Mountain View Lions Club, The Florence Mensah Foundation, and the Reflo’s TV Ladies, visited the Dodowa Methodist Primary School on May 12th, 2023, to donate items and educate the students on menstrual hygiene. The items donated included REFLO’S SANITARY PADS, Reflo’s t-shirts, and pens. These items would greatly benefit young girls in the community who may not have access to these resources.
During the visit, a member of the Lions Club provided an informative session on menstrual hygiene, emphasizing the importance of regular sanitary pad changes, proper disposal, and personal hygiene. Additionally, REFLO’S MS MS CANDID from Reflo’s TV spoke about the Reflo sanitary pads and introduced the Reflo’s TV ladies, which include REFLO’S CHURCH GIRL, REFLO’S WOMANIST, REFLO’S BARBIE, and REFLO’S MAVERICK. She also encouraged the students to watch their videos to educate them on social issues and to help with their self-care and self-esteem as they grow into young women. Anita Akuffo joined in to talk to the students and interacted with them about ignoring the negative things they see on social media and making a better future for themselves.
The initiative is a commendable step towards empowering young girls and promoting their health and hygiene education, deserving appreciation and recognition from the community. The students were appreciative of the kind gesture and expressed their gratitude to Anita Akuffo, The Florence Mensah Foundation, The Lions Club, and Reflo Company Limited for the donation. It is hoped that this kind gesture will inspire others to do the same and contribute to the betterment of society.
