On 31st May 2024, the University of Ghana’s Athletic Oval came alive with energy and
excitement as Reflo, in partnership with the School of Languages, hosted the inaugural
FLO FEST.
This groundbreaking event, dedicated to women’s health and wellness, marked a vibrant
celebration of sisterhood, self-love, and liberation.
Flo Fest, the first of its kind, aimed to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene and women’s
empowerment. The festival featured an array of engaging activities designed to educate,
entertain, and empower attendees. Among the highlights were a sip and paint session,
basketball games, and a spin-the-wheel contest, creating an atmosphere of fun and
camaraderie.
Healthcare professionals, including Dr. Erica Ntiamoah and Dr. Vanessa Mensah-Kabu, were
on hand to provide valuable insights into women’s health. Booths offering free health
screenings were a significant attraction, enabling attendees to receive important health
checks and advice.
Brand ambassadors Michy and Anita Akuffo graced the event, engaging with the crowd and
contributing to the festival’s success. The presence of Reflo’s Ladies further enhanced the
spirit of the event, as they interacted with attendees and ensured everything ran smoothly.
Numerous games and activities kept the energy high throughout the day. Participants
enjoyed sip and paint, spin the wheel, basket toss, open lock, ball stacking, ball puzzle,
musical chairs, and karaoke sessions. These activities came with exciting prizes, including
cash rewards, Reflo’s sanitary pads, and other goodies, adding an element of excitement
and competition to the festival.
Entertainment was a key component of Flo Fest, with DJ Phantom providing a lively
soundtrack that kept the crowd dancing and enjoying the day. The combination of health
talks, interactive activities, and music created a holistic experience that left attendees
feeling informed, entertained, and empowered.
